TIRGAN CELEBRATION

This year’s Tirgan picnic at Beaver Lake was a wonderful success! We had perfect weather and great community
participation. There was no shortage of delicious food brought by our generous community members. Children of all
ages enjoyed our water fight and even the adults joined in!
Thank you to all who attended and helped organizing this event. Please read the article below describing the meaning
of Tirgan!
ZAQ AGM

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday May 24th at the Côte-des-Neiges
community center. Thank you to all who were present.
For those who have not yet read the minutes from the meeting, here is a summary of the president’s report
as per Zabrina Kadkhodayan’s notes.
President’s Report
Dolly Dastoor thanked members for attending, and read out her report as ZAQ President, the first association
in North America. Secretary’s copy has full report attached for reference.
In recounting the Executive Committee’s second year as quite challenging, she spoke of the year’s events
and accomplishments. Applause followed as Dolly also spoke of each member’s contributions and
dedication, marking it with a rose each, and with sincere gratitude to our two Moobeds Ervad Jal Panthaki
and Ervad Gev Karkaria for their continued and immeasurable spiritual and religious support.
In having thanked each member’s individual efforts, Dolly listed the year’s ongoings. With the Religious
Classes discontinued due to lack of participation, she spoke of the community’s celebrations of the year’s
three events being the Shahenshahi New Year, Jashan e Sadeh and Nowruz; and due to the non-availability
of the Hall to hold the Gahambar function, she gave the good news that the renovations of the Arthur Seguin
chalet are now complete and we will be able to celebrate our events there once again starting with the
